There was ONE item that you wanted when you were a youth.
What was it?
You know, the one your begged and pleaded for.
The one you sold your soul for?
Show us a pic if you can and tell us a story about how you got it.
You know how this works!
Write us a post.
Come back Monday March 22nd and Link up with us !
The year was nineteen ninety-three; the holiday was Christmas; on the wish list was Mall Madness.
Oh how I wished to swipe that playful plastic. Shop those sales and grab that cash!
Did it happen?
Nope, not in 1993.
1994? No.
1995? Negative.
1996? Bingo!
I remember searching through the cedar closet for something.
There in the middle of Santa's loot, stood Mall Madness.
Mall Madness?!?!
I was so upset that I went and told my mom that I had found it.
To which she replied, "I thought you wanted Mall Madness!"
"Umm...yeah...Three years ago!"
I wasn't interested in make-believe shopping.
I was interested in shopping for real!
Well, needless to say, I didn't let collect dust.
I did get some playing time anyway.
Oh how I remember having to place those gold stickers on the electronic part when I first opened it.
I feel so bad about that now because she always works so hard getting us things that we like and want. :(
Hilarious! I remember this game!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen this game before ... where have I been? I was way into Life ... getting married, having kids, choosing a career, ... but this looks like a game I would prefer, especially now that I have all those other things IRL. I could use a little mall escape from reality :)
ReplyDeleteLOL!!! I 've never seen it either- hilarious!
ReplyDeleteOMG I remember Mall Madness!! I never had that one, but I did have Sweet Valley High and my friends and I would play that all the time.
ReplyDeleteOh gah I played Mall Madness till my eyes crossed. That was my all time favorite...but I didnt wait three years to get it either.....LOL LOL. Cute post.
ReplyDeleteI hope it doesn't take me 3 years to get things my kids want for Christmas. 3 years is 3 lifetimes ago when you are a child.
ReplyDeleteI forgot all about Mall Madness! I LOVED that game! "Attention shoppers, there is a sale in the shoe department!" Thanks for bringing me back to when I was 10. :)
ReplyDeleteWow. I am soooooo old. No idea this game ever existed. ;)

ReplyDeleteOMG! I had that game. I also had some game where you had to put little red zit stickers on your face if you got the question wrong. I want to say it was a truth or dare type game.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun memory...but I too loved mall Madness...I still remember how they said, "kitchen store" it was like..."keeetch-in store"
